(NICU)
Neonatology has been a dynamic and rapidly developing science in recent years. Our aim is to provide health to all newborn babies who are in need of medical support by using recent technology and knowledge.
We deal with all kinds of diseases that need urgent management and treatment in the newborn period, especially prematurity and respiratory problems are the main of this state. Attending physicians, neonatology fellows and nurses take care of infants for 24 hours a day. In the delivery room every infant is examined by the specialists, and healthy newborns are followed by newborn nurses and pediatricians closely until discharge.
Newborn babies with medical problems are accepted to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) according to their treatment levels. Capacity of our NICU is 42 beds ( 12 beds for Level 1, 10 beds for Level 2, 20 beds for Level 3) and approximately 1500 newborns have been hospitalized annually. In our newborn and premature baby follow up clinics 17.160 patients were seen in 2017.

All of our staff working in NICU are being educated on a regular basis about newborn care, diseases, resuscitation, breastfeeding, baby friendly hospital topics in coordination with the Turkish Ministery of Health. Many studies conducted in our unit has been presented in various national and international neonatology congresses. Our clinic has been host for World Prematurity Day, Pediatric Congresses and Regional Neonatology Meetings in different occasions. With high technology devices, experienced NICU team and a well established scientific approach our aim is to give the best quality of service for all newborn babies.
